Hello and a warm welcome to Southern Harbour, a blog celebrating entrepreneurship, sustainability and community, with a strong focus on local creatives and community initiatives. My name is Jodie and I have Djugun and Yawaru heritage on my maternal side and Sicilian heritage on my paternal side. Both peoples live near the ocean so perhaps being drawn to the coast is in my blood?

Back in 2017 I migrated south to Rockingham from the inner city suburb of Maylands, my childhood home. I fell in love with Rockingham’s stunningly secluded beaches, the bushland, the healthy lifestyle and the urbanity dotted along the foreshore and in secret pockets in and around the area. Can you relate to my love for this area?

I’m a mother who highly values being present with my child and the opportunity to raise him in such a beautiful part of the world. I’m a multi-passionate woman who loves design, literature, placemaking, and the creatives and initiatives that make our community the unique and lovely part of the world that it is. I’m also a copywriter, copyeditor, proofreader and content creator who loves to help creatives and community-minded entrepreneurs express themselves effectively and authentically.

Through Southern Harbour I aim to help you live a life you love, locally, by celebrating our beautiful part of the world, supporting local creative- and community-minded entrepreneurs and community organisations by helping to them to shine their light, and helping you to bring elements of sustainability and design into your homes along the way.
