Simply put, however, copyediting ensures that the story you are telling (be it a creative story or a real-life event) is organised as a beautiful whole.
This means that your narrative, values, characters, structure, and content are consistent and flow easily through your page into the mind and heart of your reader. It may surprise you to know that all editing actually takes place before proofreading.
Whilst copyediting fixes small errors such as grammar and spelling, for a total finish, proofreading is essential.

Proofreading is not just about spelling mistakes and grammar. Proofreading is the final polish of your writing, and it’s for this reason that it’s done after editing.
A copyediting and proofreading package ensures that your narrative, values, characters, structure, and content are consistent and organised as a beautiful whole, and that spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalisation, and formatting are all correct.
The difference between copyediting and proofreading is like the difference between your car being thoroughly cleansed at home versus your car being professionally detailed.
